Are all blacks racist?

Reading the comments on The Times website, you may be forgiven for coming to the conclusion that all blacks are racist. Many white comments are balanced and logical and don't mention race, but nearly all the blacks bring the subject up all the time, and always labelling whites racist. Any psychologist will tell you that identifying racism in others probably suggests you are racist yourself. And when you consider that just about all of the blacks comments about whites are derogatory, the puzzle falls into place. Racism equates to a form of arrogance. So why are we blacks so arrogant? This may be also why we refuse to abide by rules (we're too important), don't bother to learn (we know it all) and propose that we were always the master race, with superior technologies and discoveries throughout history. And continually kind and pleasant to other races, while they suppress us. Arrogance is one of the seven dealy sins, and may explain why we cannot operate in teams - we are far too individualistic. So instead of chasing all the whites out, we should use them in teams to achieve what we want. The alternative, ie chasing them all overseas or wiping them out, leaves us open to being exploited by others such as the Chinese. The reason we can be exploited so easily is that you only have to bribe our leader to have your way with us, since he is, by definition, individualistic. So although we're super proud, obviously too proud, we're unlikely to make any headway in forming a sustainable African civilisation. Unless its based on war, disease, etc...

Eishkom Load-Shedding

Viva! Amandla! Mshini Wami Mshini Wami....... Awulethe uMshini Wami!! Long live black power! Long live Darkness! Finally we are becoming a black nation. We can be proud that we can begin living as proud Africans, not colonialist pawns. Except I hear the Chinese have moved into Zimbabwe in a big way. But they can make our leaders rich, so long as we can live like Africans. What would we do with those resources anyway? We are born warriors. Lets hope we can get a good fight going here, like the bloodbath promised if they take Msholozi to court. We love Msholozi so much, the way he ignores all the white man's laws, does what the hell he wants to enrich himself and gets away with it! Really strong and ruthless. A true African leader who we are proud of. Now lets rape and steal from the remaining colonialists. Strength is the new law! Men will again take control!

Why do people hate 4x4 drivers?

No, its not global warming, as any 4x4 driver will immediately tell you. Its easy for them to keep their heads in the sand in that respect. Its because they're idiots. And hypocrits. Speak to any one and you'll see what I mean. My friend got an email from one after he joined an anti 4x4 facebook group. He said that he got his SUV not just to be a poser, but because he needed to pull his horsecart, and because he needed luxury. Mostly they'll say they need it to drive offroad on some trip that never happens, or happens once in their lifetime, and they have to make an effort to find somewhere where the 4x4 function is needed, since even in africa there are very few places a sensible person needs it. In fact, if you do, you're probably destroying some small animals home. Which brings me to one of the main attractions. Invincibility. 4x4's can drive over lots of things and bump lots of things without any risk to the driver. I had the front of my car smashed by a 4x4 in a parking lot, and know of many others who had similar. This means you can drive like an idiot without risk. Now that's bound to make you unpopular, but if you don't care, what does it say about you? I know of another 4x4 driver who drove his overpowered, excessively fast 3 ton behemoth into the back of a row of stationary traffic in the fast lane on the highway. He was upset because some "idiot" caused his 4x4 to be written off, and he had to find a lift home. How bothersome. He said he didn't even bother to brake. The insurance gave him a new one. He never mentioned the carnage or how many people died in the car in front. Not that he bothered to check. 4x4's are major obstacles and block the view of other drivers on the road, stretch right across a parking space and damage the car next door when opening their gigantic doors, destroy the environment and kill animals by driving offroad, drive much to fast and endanger other road users, can't stay in their lanes because they're too big and can't see, drive into dogs and cats, small people, parked cars because they can't see them. Basically they're irrational modes of transport, and only a narcissistic jerk would be prepared to have one. You have to think that you are the most important thing in the world, and need to be specially looked after, and are more responsible and clever than everyone else, to buy one. Which makes you what?

4x4 Heaven

As the proud owner of a new 4x4 SUV, I can now say, from an insiders point of view, that this kind of vehicle is most likely to contain an arrogant jerk. A lot is said about testosterone, feeling bigger and better than everyone else, attracting the hottest women, etc. So I suppose that people who need more of all that apparently get it with this kind of car. I can't say its worked for me, but then I didn't consider myself lacking in those departments previously. I can say for sure, that these cars are a complete waste of money and are road hazards for their drivers and all other road users. I've personally watched as a housewif reversed her 4x4 into (luckily) another one, before parking, seemingly oblivious to the damage inflicted. My old car had its bonnet folded by a 4x4 behemoth, who most likely literally felt nothing before driving away. Often they block the view for other road users, and I find myself driving to the left, just to allow the car behind to see whats going on ahead. The road holding is appalling compared to any car. The vehicle is difficult to keep in its lane, because its so wide, and difficult to maneuver and park. People in cars hate you parking next to them, since your huge doors cause quite significant damage to their cars when you get out, especially since you had to squeeze your behemoth into the parking place in the first place. Yes, there's no doubt, you feel like a jerk in a 4x4.

Colonialists Whingeing Again

Do these colonialists never catch on? They’re whingeing about crime (specifically being robbed on table mountain. They’ve always got some problem – disorganisation in govt, corruption, justice system collapse, Manto, you name it! Very little of the whingeing comes from African brothers. Why? Because they accept it, and an individual never bothers to change things for the so called “greater good”. You just worry about yourself and your own situation, ie just protect yourself from crime. To the colonialists I say, go and spend a month in Lagos. That is Africa. So is this. South Africa is no longer a colonialist outpost, since you lost it to us, the Africans. Africa is dark, dangerous, corrupt, unstable and not for white wussies. Do not compare us with Europe, because you can’t compare Apples with Oranges. Also, you can’t have it all. In Africa, you can live like a king, make loads of money and be far more free than is possible in European countries. Just go and ask the remnants of the colonialists still resident in countries north of us. The downside (for whingers, that is – we like it like it is) is the African environment you have to deal with. So unfortunately all the whingers are actually going to have to accept it or leave, because no one in govt gives a damn, unless there’s something in it for them. And as time goes on, they’ll give less and less of a damn. And stop trying to change it, because ultimately Africa is for Africans!

Mlambo-Nguka

I have decided to answer our ex-deputy health minister's question. Yesterday she asked South Africans to just rate her on her performance. Mlambo, you have failed. You failed to be an incompetent, disinterested, ANC arse creeper. You have failed to live up to what the ANC and the people expect of you. You have failed to ignore the people's most pressing problems. You have failed to spout nonsense at every possible opportunity, and to throw your name away with the international community. You have failed to look the other way while hospitals fall apart and babies die. If you want to succeed, you should take up drinking and eating heavily at the taxpayers expense - you need to be fat to be a politician. You also need to do what you're told, not what's right.

DA Leader Arrested

The DA are stupid - why select a delicate white woman to be leader, when all Africans know you need someone tough like Morgan Tsvangirai. How on earth will we beat her up without killing her? This is all part of African politics, and the way we like it. The DA really don't belong in Africa...

Individualism

I see no one less than the president agrees with me (http://www.thetimes.co.za/News/Article.aspx?id=563798-) individualism is what destroys Africa. We Africans have never learnt to be socially oriented. Hence the corruption, democracy failure, rampant capitalism and crime we enjoy here. All great civilisations and advancements were built on working together. Africans just have not developed the mentality to do it. We are consumed by the 7 deadly sins, and we don't even acknowledge them as sins. If you can't understand civilisation, how on earth do you expect to partake in it?

Zimbabwe

Us blacks are just hopeless at looking after ourselves as groups, and deserve to be wiped out. Take Zimbabwe. Everyone is now either starving or leaving the country to go where? TO SOUTH AFRICA!! Surely the least "African" of the African countries. What is wrong? The Zimbabwean people chose their leader, repeatedly. They have selected their destiny. Now they must grin and bear it, whatever the result is, even if they die in the process. If we don't want to be wiped out by our leaders and their actions, here's a novel idea, choose leaders that won't do that to us. Effectively, Mbeki is right to support Mugabe - he is the chosen leader of the Zimbabwean people. If they want a nutcase running the country, who are we to argue? Now how about Zuma for our president!

4x4 Idiots

I read a interesting rant on facebook about the SUV scourge in America (there's an anti SUV group there). Having recently acquired a 4x4 myself, I have to agree on all accounts; SUVs are dangerous, impractical killing machines, and are driven by idiots who should rather be removed from society. I find that I regularly block the view of other road users, can't maneouver or see easily, don't worry about damaging more delicate vehicles, and generally feel and accoringly act like an idiot in my SUV. However, us SUV drivers are not alone in being idiots. We have a lot in common with BMW drivers, who are similarly idiots. The sooner these vehicles are banned from the roads the better for all.

ANC Racists

To suggest that the BBC would even hint at a thought such as blacks are "genetically inferior" is unbelievable - especially since more than half the UK population are black. Its an interesting concept the ANC has invented - genetic inferiority. Unfortunately scientifically impossible. Like saying Lions are genetically inferior to leopards, because leopards can live virtually anywhere. I would suggest the ANC needs to get educated, and stop saying stupid things - they may just get an audience among racist whites such as the AWB, but no one else will take them seriously, and they damage their credibility by thoughtless outbursts. Come to think of it, one of them said something equally stupid the other day, when a DA parliamentarian highlighted how some colonialists were being affected by crime. He went on in a rage about why the parliamentarian was using a colonialist as an example, instead of a poverty stricken brother. And anytime anyone mentions crime, they come back about how those people should rather address poverty. How incredibly stupid, when Wendy Lucas Bull just got more than R70m for a BEE deal (she's white), the govt again can't spend all the tax, all the top ANC brass are rolling in money, and there is NO SAFETY NET and NO HOPE for millions of poverty stricken people! People can starve to death in SA and no one cares, there is no way to get a meal if you need one. Yes the govt is failing in crime. Yes they're failing equally at poverty relief and job creation. But why scream and shout when people point it out?

I was reading a book in the CNA over the festive period, and it was written by some famous writer and endorsed by the Dept of Arts and Culture, South Africa. Essentially it was about colonialism, describing the effects and how to free us from the pervading and long lasting effects. Incredibly, the writer was suggesting that Africans are at least equivalent or better than all Europeans at being Europeans. For example, he described scientific inventions by Africans, trying to suggest Africans are historically just as good or better at science. This has got to be the hardest argument in the world to support in any logical way, but this guy did just that. This is just typical of Africans, always trying to compete and win against everyone. Every business knows that if you try to take on another company at their own game, its certain disaster for you. You must always do your own thing, what you do best, for success. But no, we Africans are better at everything, but the shackles of Apartheid and colonialism have prevented us reaching our true potential. If there were no colonialists in the world, we would be living in an advanced Utopia, flying regularly to the moon and Mars, protecting our environment, using vehicles that float in air and don't have wheels, launching satellites and everybody fat and well fed with a whole herd of cows and 30 wives each. Maybe they would even be programmable wives. Its so good to be from the superior world race, to be able to walk around knowing you're better than all other races, knowing you're the piece of snot that floats best. Knowing all other beings were put their for you to eat or otherwise use as you see fit. Knowing you've been suppressed and therefore are owed stuff by everybody else. Its wonderful to be black!

Festive Preparations

Its that time of the year again. Time to prepare yourself for Christmas - get the alcohol tolerance level up, practise the drunk driving without appearing obviously drunk, get ready to make moves on all women in the name of festive cheer, and time to remember what its all supposed to be for. These days, of course, most of us are'nt religious, but we can think of great people and their lives and teachings anyway. Most of us in SA and in Africa in general are going to be seriously short of resources to use for having fun. So we'll use the tried and trusted method of acquiring some in a hurry. This always has the effect of upsetting the colonialists among us, who normally bear the brunt of our activities. There's also nothing like a bit of beer to get rid of the last vestiges of your inhibitions with respect to women, or partying in general. And when the police do actually catch you, which is almost never, the Christmas spirit normally ensures they let you go as usual, maybe after receipt of a little Christmas gift.

Ashamed to Be Black

I'm really ashamed to hear about people like the president of Guinea, who lives the high life, sells out to the Americans, and his 500 000 population gets nothing and lives in total poverty. Mugabe is similar, except selling out to the Chinese. Meanwhile, all the other African leaders, such as ours (Mbeki), offer him their total, loyal, and unwavering support. Then one of our politicians goes to jail for stealing from the government, which is effectively stealing from the people, and all the other politicians openly show their support for him, and he gets his jail term shortened by a remarkable degree, and gets to go home on weekends. What is wrong with us? Do we only show ubuntu for the well-heeled? Are all poverty stricken people not really blacks like us? Do we really not care less about anybody except ourselves and our influential mates? I can't see the reasoning, just as I can't see the reasoning we're all violently supporting JZ. Why don't we choose rulers who have a proven track record of support for everyone, and not just interested in self wealth generation and spending? We hate the colonialists with such a passion, but we're probably worse than them whenever we get a chance.

Colonialist peculiar problems

I did a bit of house painting work for a colonialist (white male) the other day, and while he drove me home we got talking. It turns out he's got into a bit of a difficult situation. Apparently he took on a difficult job, and 3 years later resigned to release extra funds to help the organisation purchase equipment, etc. The problem was that then he carried on working there, planning to slowly pass the workload over to others, such that they wouldn't need to replace him, and the department could flourish. Now, 1 and a half years later, he's still going in to his office everyday and doing the same work he did when they paid him for it. However, now that he's no longer officially an employee, things are much tougher for him, since he can't approve purchases, etc, and subsequently often ends up footing the bill himself. He has been looking for a job half-heartedly, firstly because he knows he won't get one (being a white male and not a CA), and secondly because he's worried about what will happen to the department when he finally leaves. Its hard to believe anyone can be so stupid. He now feels compelled to work for free for the foreseeable future. Some people enjoy their job, but this is just taking things too far. To add insult to injury, all the funds that have been freed up are now being used by the new official head of department for annual overseas trips and new, personal computer equipment for himself, and the department is in the same cash-strapped situation as before. In fact the guy still has to justify to the funders that the money they're giving is being well-spent - effectively he's being forced to lie about where the money is going, because he's scared they'll withdraw funding if they realise its all being spent on someone's personal use. And I thought I had problems...

A Nation of Idiots

Someone must save the entire message board from the Friends of JZ website for posterity. Any archaologists digging this stuff up in 100 years time will find it impossible to believe that we could be so utterly stupid. The time we waste writing nonsensical guff could be much better put to use being creative, getting together, preparing for 2010. Or even thinking about and planning the housing and feeding of our growing nation and neighbours. Improving education. Saving our environment and fellow creatures. Respecting gays. Important stuff. Squabbling over colonialist and capitalist spoils is unutterably stupid in this day and age. Come on, someone, such as JZ himself, say something intelligent to get us back on track...

Crime Statistics

As usual, Ngakula our minister of safety and security has announced a reduction in most crimes. His main aim in life, it seems, is to reduce crime statistics. What is the easiest way to do this? Is it get the police to tackle crime? Is it to actually reduce incidents of crime? Of course not! It's to either manipulate the figures, prevent the release of the figures altogether, or to prevent people from reporting crimes. Guess which methods our wonderful minister has chosen? You guessed right - the African method, the easy way out, the solution for those who think that our country is incapable of doing anything properly. Unfortunately this pervading thought is turning into a self-fulfilling prophecy. Our minister doesn't seem to be thinking too much about the implications of his actions on the people, nost importantly the women and children who are most likely to be on the receiving and of the criminal behaviour he is indirectly promoting. He also doesn't seem to realise that he is the only one who can do anything about it. While he's dining in Sandton's most exclusive restaurants, the massive responsibility is resting on his shoulders, but he hasn't noticed. I watched on SABC while the presenter grilled him on crime, and he easily evaded every single questions, no answers as usual. And that questioning only by the state broadcaster - imagine how someone like Debra Patter would have laid into him. Its time for him to stop being an idiot, and start caring.

Zimbabwe’s Problem

I was in the shebeen speaking to a brother Zimbabwean the other day, and he said that without a doubt, Zimbabwe’s people are not acting together, but are each looking after their own individual interests, and hence their massive problems. And they have huge problems. I responded that maybe they can’t act in the national interest when they are just about starving, and operating in survival mode. However, I just have to agree with him, because I can’t imagine Germany or Japan operating like that, for example, after the 2nd World War. Somehow the people always unite and stand together, as is essential to advance as a nation. We African’s are meant to have built-in Ubuntu, but somehow, pride, envy and jealousy normally overcome any altruistic tendencies we have. Especially with regard to other races. In Zimbabwe’s case, the place is laughable, the things that are done are just so nonsensical, yet they carry on in all seriousness. It is such a waste of time, pretending you’re a democracy with a free market system, pretending you can run a modern country. I have no idea why they bother – should simply throw in the towel and go back to living off the land. They’d probably improve economically if they did.

Living in Africa

I have to admit, despite my respect for a few of our politicians, that the government has, to some extent, failed us. They have failed at uplifting the poor, employing the unemployed and delivering services. They have failed at reducing crime, limiting corruption, reducing AIDS, and redistributing land and wealth, and even at educating our children. However, everybody sees our neighbour, Zimbabwe, and in contrast we are a huge success, as indicated by the droves of refugees entering our country. But because the government hasn’t succeeded completely, we decide to vote in a nice populist government to sort things out. And in 10 years time we’re just like all our neighbours – living on US or European Aid, watching as the Chinese and Russians take all our resources overseas, watch as our president squanders all the remainder of the country’s wealth, zero jobs available except as inspectors for the government (to enforce all their myriads of new laws like controlling the price of bread, or prevention of illegal currency dealing), grabbing commercial farms to live on in a subsistence fashion as we did 200 years ago, read our government-owned newspapers which have headline stories about someone stealing petrol while hundreds are murdered daily, watch our government-owned TV news and see the science and technology insert about a spaced out wacko in all seriousness describing an alien spacecraft, followed by an interview of witnesses to petrol theft from a government vehicle, including a detailed view of the piece of pipe and bucket used for the heinous crime, sitting complaining about 1000% inflation rate or the fact that our salary is only enough for 10 loaves of bread but nobody’s listening or caring, still relying on the hated colonialists to sell us black-market petrol and food, those same colonialists secreting any wealth they can get straight overseas where it is safe, our wealth in local currency regularly reduced to zero value. Yes, this is Africa, our Africa, and you must accept it and make the best of it. As you can see, I was in Harare recently and I have seen our future. Are we stupid? No I think not – believe it or not, this is what we want, what we feel comfortable with. We in SA complain about everything far more than the Zimbabweans, who are literally starving. They have no economy to speak of, although they try to maintain the colonialist way of doing things still. The remaining colonialists use generators for power, have to collect water, and have to import their own fuel – and that’s inside Harare, the second biggest city. And all the colonialists drive 4x4s because of the potholes. Amazingly, despite the governments’ efforts, they’re still having relatively good lives. I suppose the ones that couldn’t handle it have all left. The people generally accept their lot in life, which is reduced to survival mode, trying to find increasingly rare food and money everyday, and are actually better people for it. They have been there, and now appreciate the small things in life, the important things such as basic necessities, which in all honesty is all we really need. Its only the colonialists who’ve made us greedy, made us want other things. So be satisfied, be happy, accept our culture of mediocrity – and things will always be OK.

What do the Workers Want?

The Great JZ has a lot of support from the unions, meaning that lower paid, employed people like the mineworkers want him to be president. The question is why? It is obvious he will not create jobs, more likely remove them. I imagine these people don’t particularly like their jobs anyway. What he will do is shake the economy up, create economic meltdown of the colonialist side of the economy, and redistribute wealth – which means land, I presume, since that’s all that will hang around to be redistributed. In essence, then, they want what Zimbabwe got, what the Namibians want and will be getting shortly I presume, and what the rest of Africa got- they want the land handed over. Of course, they would want anything else of value too, but that normally doesn’t last long enough to be of any value, eg businesses such as mines, since they all need to be operated to retain their value. History shows that after hand over, even the land drops in value, since production is halted. Why then, this insistence on taking everything? Do we Africans have a higher tendency to envy or greed than others? Probably, judging by the level of corruption and the massive rich-poor gaps in Africa. We are proven to make excellent capitalists. All our politicians are fat and drive expensive 4x4s. Also, our strong sense of individualism and pride suggests a strong tendency to arrogance, which explains our tendency to be racists (as well as our tendency to drive 4x4s and care less about the poverty stricken masses). Once everything is destroyed, our politicians are driving 4x4s over us, we’re all starving together, and our vote counts for nothing because of voting fraud, we seem to be happy and resigned to whatever fate befalls us, since there’s nothing we can do about it. But yes, we have to assume that underneath it all, our objective is to go back to living as our ancestors did, a few cattle, women stamping sorgum for beer, a fight against the neighbouring tribe now and then. The thing is, we could probably get just that, and the colonialists could have the cities and their western economies. That’s all of no interest to us in the long run. The agricultural side of the economy is of less importance than ever. I assume greed precludes this outcome. Unfortunately its inevitable, then, until we can all stand up and actually care for and truly respect our fellow countrymen, fellow earthly creatures (yes, they’re no less important than us, although our unbelievable arrogance suggests somewhere we forgot this fact) and (gasp!) even our colonialist invaders – they are also creatures of this earth, and are not of lesser importance than us. If we could ever conceptualise the fact that Eugene Terreblanche must be respected, thought of with empathy, and nurtured, we may finally be getting somewhere. Lets hope, for the sake of our humanity, some miracle changes us, and we can establish some semblance of sanity to our continent.
